Every town has one bakery that the locals quietly agree is the good one. In Budva it is Miris Peciva, a small shop that has been turning out homemade peciva since 2020 and has the most reliable critics in town on its side: the kids from the school next door, who queue for the kiflice on break.

Kiflice are the thing to order. These are the small crescent rolls of the Balkans, and here they come in both sweet and savoury versions, baked fresh through the day. Take a couple of each; they are small, inexpensive, and the argument about which version is better is best settled empirically.

This is an everyday local spot, not a tourist attraction, and that is exactly its value. There is no seating ceremony and no menu translation theatre, just a counter, the smell of baking (the name literally means “scent of pastries”), and change from a few euros.

It slots perfectly into a morning: grab a bag of kiflice on the way to the beach or before wandering into the Old Town, and you have solved breakfast the way Budva itself does.
