About Budva Insider
Why this site exists, and why you can trust what it says
Budva Insider exists because most of what the internet says about Budva is written by people who have never stood on Mogren at 9am in August. Big travel platforms cover the whole planet; nobody there knows that the Kamenovo parking turn is awkward from the Budva side, or that the path to Mogren gets slippery after rain. We do, because this is our patch: the site is run by people who spend part of every year in Budva and keep in touch with local friends the rest of the time.
How we verify facts
Every page on this site is built from a structured set of facts, and every fact knows where it came from and when it was last checked. Concretely:
- ✓ verified means a person confirmed it: we checked it on the ground ourselves, or a local contact confirmed it for us (a sunbed price, a Google Maps pin, an opening pattern). The confirmation date is shown next to the fact.
- Unconfirmed means the fact comes from a source we consider reliable (OpenStreetMap, official sites, our research) but no one has re-checked it in person yet. We label it honestly rather than pretending.
- Live data, like sea temperature, updates automatically twice a day from Open-Meteo, and each reading shows its timestamp.
When we do not know something, the page simply does not claim it. You will find "check at the gate" on this site more often than a stale price.
Our photos
Photographs marked as ours were taken by us, in Budva, and we date them. Where we temporarily use a Creative Commons photo instead, it is credited to its author under the photo. We would rather show you an honest recent snapshot than a decade-old brochure image with impossible colours.
The local tips
The "Local tip" boxes on entity pages are written in our own words and published verbatim; they are opinions from experience, not sponsored placements. Nobody pays to be recommended on this site, and if that ever changes for some listing, it will say so on that listing.
Corrections
Prices move and places close, especially on this coast. If you spot something that has changed since the date shown on a page, we genuinely want to know; a correction note travels through the whole site within a day. A contact form is coming; until then, the fastest route is the site's social profiles.
