Bečići is what you choose when the beach is the point. It sits one headland east of Budva, over (or through) the Zavala peninsula, fronting one of the longest sandy beaches on the Montenegrin coast: a broad band of sand that comfortably absorbs even the August crowds.
The character is resort rather than town. The seafront is lined with larger hotels, many with pools and half-board, backed by apartment blocks, and the pace is noticeably calmer and more family-oriented than central Budva. Evenings mean promenade strolls and dinner rather than club queues, and the beach infrastructure (sunbeds, showers, watersports in season) is the most complete around.
Crucially, choosing calm does not mean exile. Central Budva is a short drive or bus hop away, and the nicer route is on foot: the coastal walk over the Zavala headland delivers you to town with a viewpoint thrown in. Kamenovo beach and the road to Sveti Stefan are just as close in the other direction.
Bečići suits families, beach-first holidays and anyone who wants resort comfort with Budva as an excursion rather than a soundtrack. Prices run mid-range to upmarket, with the big beachfront hotels at the top of the local scale.
